Pineapple tarts (part III)

This is a belated post on the third batch of pineapple tarts we made over the CNY period.

We tweaked the earlier recipes and this is like an in-between version. Not too buttery like part II and not too tough like part I.

20g corn flour
250g butter (cold, cut into smaller pieces)
3 tbsp icing sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla essence
3 egg yolks
3 tbsp water
Pineapple jam from Bake King
Glaze from egg yolks + water

Using the rub-in method (flours, icing sugar, salt)

Then the liquids

Chill dough in fridge before using

Oven : 160 degrees for 20min

Happy 3rd birthday!

Cute Anpanman red velvet with cream cheese cupcake for a girl who turns 3!

And since it's CNY season, the birthday meal comes with lo-hei. Assembled with ready-slivers of red green and white from the supermarket and even more special and yummy with slices of starfruit.

New Ubin Seafood

Dinner that brought the 3 of us together. Night filled with loud chatter and sharing of exploits.

We tried looking for the ubiquitous bottle of labelled wine but couldn't.

The food was good and so was the company.

Mantou was $1 a piece. The ribeye by weight was half a kilo's worth, while the crab, less than a kilo, satisfied us.
