Rustic coffee charm
Quaint little coffee boutique tucked away in the back alley of a row of shophouses. Its focus is on beans, roasting and machines. So the coffee they offer are really samples. Long flat, Cappucino and Latte, and you leave a tip!

They've also opened Loysel's Toy Cafe and the new Chye Seng Huat Hardware where you can get food and cakes along with their coffee.
Note : Papa Palheta will be moving out from Hooper Road on 21 Oct. They will operate from Chye Seng Huat Hardware Store.

Salmon and egg wraps with mustard mayo
Smoked salmon
Hard-boiled eggs
Baby spinach
Large wraps
Sauce :
200g mayo
6 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 small red onion, finely sliced

6 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 small red onion, finely sliced
Mustard slaw
Finely slice half white onion. Grate 500g carrots. Shred 1 small white cabbage. Mix all with 2 tbsp mayo, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard and 2 tsp mustard seeds.

Dulcet & Studio - Japanese dessert
A quick lunch on a lazy afternoon from a while back.
Another great foodplace under the Tampopo brand. Dulcet & studio is a nice sit-in restaurant at level 1 of Liang Court. It sells western meals along with their popular Japanese-style dessert. Venture further into the restaurant and you'll find yourself in a homey setting, with kitchen countertops and ovens and pinewood furniture.
The milk pudding with caramel sauce is popular. As with the strawberry cheesecake.
Tampopo also runs a brisk cafe counter in the basement, and a Japanese restaurant at level 1 of Liang Court. It also runs Tarafuku at 313 Somerset.

Comfort food with friends makes for a great dinner.
This is a dumpling stall at the Chinatown hawker centre (#02-135) that surfaced in more recent years going by my google search using the keywords Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao.
Freshly made and steaming xiao long bao and hong you cha shou (Szechuan spicy wanton in generous dose of vinegar).
We also shared fried noodles, fried bee hoon, porridge and sheng-yu.
Paired with reasonably-priced fruit juices. Mine was starfruit juice ($1.50).
Other good food to try:
- Heng Ji Chicken Rice. It's near to the dumpling stall. Many diners would order the steamed chicken meat (no rice) and add on dishes from other stalls to complete their meal.
- Shanghai Chee cheong fun (it was closed when we were there at dinnertime)
- claypot rice (#02-198/9) (Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice)
