Office popiah
A mini popiah party we had in the office a while ago.
Homemade turnip and cabbage filling with meat and dried prawns. Served with sides of sweet sauce, chili paste, ground peanuts and lettuce, and of course, popiah skin.
Simple and cosy.
Old Longhouse Popiah
Shop is at Toa Payoh and they do deliveries.
Take note that their original recipe does not use ground peanuts so if you like those, be sure to add them ($5!) to your delivery order.
Take note too that the beansprouts come raw so you need to blanch them in boiling water before you use them in your popiah.
The crispy fish bits add that distinct crunch to the popiah.
Their kueh pie tee shells are VERY fresh.
Chin chin
Chin chin eating house. An old favorite at Purvis Street.
Famous for their Hainanese Pork Chop served with a separate side of sweet ketchup sauce and limp but nice and mushy peas.
